THE SIENNA SWIM BIKINI BOTTOM FIT GUIDE

Finding the one you’ll love wearing.

Finding your favorite bikini bottom is personal. Maybe you always reach for something cheeky and low on the hips. Maybe you want a little more coverage through the back. Or maybe the first thing you look for is a high-rise fit.

We design Sienna Swim bottoms in different silhouettes because there isn't one fit that works for everyone—or even one fit you'll want to wear all the time.

But we also know that when you're shopping online, the difference between cheeky, medium and full coverage isn't always easy to see. And once you add rise, adjustable ties and where a bottom sits on the hips, there's a lot to consider.

So, we put together a guide to help.

Start with the thing that matters most to you—coverage, rise or adjustability—and we'll take it from there.

Looking for a Cheekier Fit?

If cheeky is your starting point, the next question is how you like your bottoms to sit.

Rio is our classic low-rise cheeky fit. It sits comfortably on the hips with that familiar, almost underwear-like feel that has made it one of our most-loved bottoms.

Swami's has a similar low-rise, cheeky silhouette, so if you already know you love the way Rio fits, this is another one to try.

Prefer something higher on the hips? Cabo gives you a cheeky back with a higher-cut leg. Its double side straps are one of the details that make the silhouette different, and the fabric slides along the straps so you can adjust the coverage through the back.

For even more flexibility, look at Nalo or Tulum. Nalo's adjustable side ties and sliding fabric let you play with both coverage and placement. Tulum sits a little higher through the rise, with adjustable ties and a cheeky back when you want a little more sun.

And if your answer to “how much coverage?” is as little as possible, keep reading. Riviera and Solana are two of our most minimal fits.

Want a Little More Coverage?

More coverage doesn't necessarily mean more fabric everywhere. The real question is where you want it.

For more coverage through the back, Kahana Tie, Paloma and Clemente are good places to start.

Kahana Tie has medium coverage with adjustable sides, so you have some freedom to change where and how it sits.

Paloma also offers medium coverage, but sits higher on the hips for a more elongated silhouette. And if you love that fit but want something a little more special, Paloma Beaded is the same silhouette finished with beaded detailing at the sides.

Clemente keeps things lower. It has a low-rise fit with medium coverage through the back, making it a great option if you want more coverage without wearing your bikini higher on your hips.

Looking for Our Most Coverage?

This is where it helps to distinguish between back coverage and stomach coverage, because our two most covered fits are very different.

If your priority is coverage through the back, Trestles is the one. It's our fullest-coverage bottom, but it still has a low-rise silhouette that sits comfortably on the hips.

If you're looking for more coverage through the stomach, start with Montecito. It's our high-rise bottom and gives you the most coverage through the front, with a smooth waistband and medium-to-full coverage through the back.

So, if you've ever wondered which Sienna Swim bottom gives you the most coverage, think of it this way:

Most back coverage: Trestles.
Most stomach coverage: Montecito.

Want Something That Sits High on the Hips?

Sometimes coverage isn't the deciding factor at all. You just know you love the look and feel of a bottom that sits higher through the leg.

For a cheekier version, start with Bondi or Cabo. Bondi and her sister, Something Gold from our With Love collection, have a low-rise front with a higher cut through the hips, while Cabo adds double side straps and adjustable coverage through the back.

If you want medium coverage, Paloma gives you more through the back while keeping that higher-on-the-hip silhouette.

And for our most minimal versions, look at Riviera and Solana. Both sit high on the hips with very little coverage through the back and thin sides.

In other words, you don't have to choose between a high-on-the-hip fit and the amount of coverage you prefer. There are options across the spectrum.

Prefer a Little More Adjustability?

If you're someone who likes to move your bikini around until it sits just right, there are four bottoms to know.

Nalo gives you adjustable side ties and sliding fabric, so you can customize the coverage and placement.

Kahana Tie gives you medium coverage with side ties that let you adjust where the bottom sits on your hips.

Tulum combines a cheekier back with adjustable side ties and a mid-rise fit.

And Cabo lets you slide the fabric along its double side straps to adjust the coverage through the back.

The nice thing about an adjustable fit is that it doesn't have to look exactly the same every time you wear it. Wear it a little higher one day, change the coverage the next—it's up to you.

And Then There Are the Details

Fit might be the first thing you think about, but sometimes a bottom wins you over because of one detail.

Bows and Lattice both have cheeky coverage with ruffled detailing along the sides. The thicker side detail gives you a little more coverage through the hips while keeping the back cheeky.

Forever and Barefoot both feature adjustable tie sides that let you customize the fit. Forever is finished with delicate lace detailing, while Barefoot combines mesh with beaded details for a little something extra, both with cheeky coverage through the back.

Something Blue features a cheeky silhouette with a ruched front and delicate light blue detailing along the edges. Part of our With Love collection, it can be personalized with custom embroidery, from your new initials or last name to a meaningful word or date, making it a piece that’s uniquely yours.

They're for the days when you want the fit you love, with something a little unexpected.

Find Your Fit at a Glance

If you came here with one question, here's the short answer:

Most minimal: Riviera + Solana
Classic cheeky: Rio + Swami's

Still Not Sure?

Start with the bikini bottom you already own and reach for the most.

Does it sit low or high? Do you like more coverage through the back, or do you usually pull it in for a cheekier fit? Do you like your bottoms straight across your hips or higher through the leg?

You probably already know more about your favorite fit than you think.

And if you're deciding between two Sienna Swim styles—or aren't sure which size is right for you—send us a note. Tell us what you normally wear, what you're looking for, or which Sienna Swim bottom you already love. We're always happy to help you find the next one.
